The newborn King depends on Joseph to protect him from the bloody earthly king. Returning from Egypt, the Son of God establishes the New Covenant, leading us from the slavery of sin into the new promised land, his kingdom.
With the Holy Spouses first puzzle at the mystery of God Incarnate become dependent, threatened, a refugee with a price on his head. Then contemplate God’s providence using this suffering to come to replace pagan idolatry and then return to the promised land as the true King of the New Covenant to which we are blessed to belong.
